Q. How do I determine if I am eligible to curl as a 5-and-Under Curler?

A. Per USA Curling

Q. What is a modified-mixed format?
A. In this format, all teams must be mixed-gender. This can be a 3+1, 2+2 or 1+3 format, however, there is no guideline regarding the order in which each gender player must play.

Q. If we need a substitute last-minute, will we be allowed to play as a single-gendered 3 person team?
A. No, there must be at least one male and one female team member playing on the team at all times.

Q. Will the Fighting Hornet 5-and-Under be utilizing the "no-tick rule"
A. TBD based on USA Curling’s determination for tournament rules of play for the 2023-2024 season

Q. Because this is a gendered event, how will gender-requirements be determined in the event a team member identifies as transgender or non-binary?
A. Per USA Curling's Transgender Policy section c.iv:
Each participant will be required to declare their preferred gender identity at the time of registration for any event where gender identity is a qualifying characteristic. Registration for a gender-specific event (e.g., men’s event, women’s event, or mixed event) is, in and of itself, considered sufficient declaration.
