Monday – Queen’s Cup
Description
Welcome to Monday night league! Put together your rink and compete for the prestigious Queens Cup trophy. Draws are at 6:45 pm and 9:00 pm with a two hour time limit. Substitutions are allowed but a team must have two original members for the game to count toward the standings. Rinks may consist of not more than five members.
No make-up games will be allowed for Monday Night League. Regular season ties will be decided by skip stones. Playoff ties will be decided by an extra end. Teams will be awarded three points for a regulation win and two points for a win resulting in skip stones. The losing team in a game resulting in skip stones will be awarded one point.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four teams in the standings will advance to a page playoff system. The remaining teams will compete for overall ranking. At the conclusion of the fall session, the team that finishes in fourth place will be designated as league commissioners of the 2024-2025 Monday Night League fall and spring sessions.
Every draw will have ice and bar duties assigned by the commissioners.
This year league commissioners are introducing the Double Take-out board sponsored by McKee Travel. A double take-out is defined by the World Curling Federation as “A stone that removes two of the opponent’s stones from play”. A team that performs a double take-out must move the Double Take-out board to their sheet prior to their next delivered stone. At the conclusion of each draw the last team to complete a double take-out will be awarded a free round of drinks. This does not excuse the winning rink from honoring their courtesy beverage to the losing rink.
