Charlotte Curling is pleased to announce that the tenth annual Southern Mixed Doubles Cashspiel is back! The event, to be held December 31st – Jan 3rd is a World Curling Tour sanctioned event with a $10,500 USD purse. This international event is scheduled to help provide elite mixed doubles teams the opportunity for a high-level competition while earning cash and points on the WCT Mixed Doubles tour in the wonderful city of Charlotte, North Carolina. This event is open to all curlers throughout the world. This event will follow the mixed doubles rules of the World Curling Federation.

The Charlotte Curling Center, which opened in November 2014, is a state-of-the-art dedicated facility with four sheets, changing rooms, a full bar featuring local craft beer, and a large warm room and spectator area. It is situated close to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, downtown Charlotte, hotels, restaurants, and shopping. The city of Charlotte is fortunate to have mild winters, which allows visitors to explore the city year-round. Charlotte is home to outstanding restaurants, breweries, museums, several theaters, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and home to the Carolina Panthers (NFL), Charlotte Hornets (NBA) and Charlotte Knights (AAA).

Please join us in making this year’s Southern Mixed Doubles the best! Registrations will ONLY be accepted through the website at the bottom of this page. Registration will close on December 1, 2025, though it normally has sold out way before then.

How to Register

Registration will open on June 21st, 2026 at 5pm.  Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click “SIGN UP”.

  • Open to 24 Mixed Doubles Teams (All teams must consist of one male and one female)
  • 8 teams qualified for the playoffs
  • 5-game guarantee
  • $500 Entry Fee per team
  • Payouts to the 8 playoff teams ($700 for 5th-8th place, $1400 for 3rd & 4th, $2100 for 2nd, $2800 for 1st)
  • The ice will be available the afternoon and evening of December 30th for practice
  • Register by 11:55pm on December 1st
  • There are many options for Hotels and short term rentals within a 10 min drive of the club

The 24 team field will be chosen by 3 criteria: 

1. The first 18 teams to sign up, regardless of world or country ranking will be offered a spot.  If one of these teams declines or doesn’t pay, then we will work through the wait-list in order of signups. 2. If you are a top 200 team in the world, you may take one of the last 6 slots in the field, based on order of signup. We will pull this ranking after the competition points are posted from the Oct 4th competitions.  3. If there are no top 200 world teams on the registration list in early October, then the last 6 slots will be filled with any level of team based on order of signup. Sign Up
