Our Mission
The Charlotte Curling Association wants to promote and expand wheelchair curling in the South. We currently have two wheelchair members and are looking to continue growing this program. Curling is a sport for everyone!

Past Bonspiels
In September 2015 we hosted our first-ever Rock-n-Roll Mixed Doubles Bonspiel. This event paired able-bodied curlers with wheelchair curlers in a fun mixed doubles format. This is one of only four wheelchair bonspiels in the United States. Several elite curlers from the US Paralympic Team participated in the bonspiel and Steve Brown, US Paralympic Team Coach, hosted a few on-ice clinics during the event. The event was very unique and a huge success. Stay tuned for more information about next years bonspiel!
Past Events

On February 3, 2016, we hosted a Wheelchair Instructor Course. The 2.5 hour clinic was run by Patrick McDonald, Team USA Paralympic Curling Skip. This clinic included 1 hour of off ice presentation and 1.5 hours of on ice work. The target audience was potential wheelchair coaches and players. We hope to continue our relationship with the USA Paralympic Curling team as we continue promoting wheelchair curling in the South!

On November 14, 2015, we partnered with USA Curling and Carolinas Healthcare System Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program (ASAP) to host a wheelchair curling clinic. Check out some pictures of the event HERE! We will post other events here as they become available.
