As we get ready for our first curling league play in Charlotte, we are planning a gathering for club members to learn more about the rules, etiquette, strategy, and in general how game play works. One of our members, David P, has graciously offered his home up for the event – and I think you’ll see why we jumped on the chance when we get there. After all, how many people do you know that have a miniature curling sheet in their finished basement?¬†Of course it won’t be all about the books. As with all things curling, we’re going to make time to kick back and have some fun.
We are still working on the date, but right now are leaning towards the evening of Saturday, May 29th. This will allow everything to be fresh on our mind as we head into game play the very next weekend. But you do not have to be playing in the summer league to join us. Whether you are playing in the summer league, the fall league, or a basic member planning to be a sub, come out and learn what an actual game is all about.
More details will be sent out to members as we get closer, but go ahead and hold that date!

Me too!! I am picking up some idea of the game in Raleigh too. It’s definitely a mix of shuffleboard and chess on ice. So count me in too!!
