Okay so here’s where we are right now with getting things going….
We have some feelers out to local ice rinks to organize some ice time. We hope to have that finalized in the next few weeks. Once we do that, we will be planning our very first Learn to Curl (LTC) event!!! That is where you get some classroom time (don’t worry – its very informal and brief) to learn the basics of the sport and then get out on the ice and give it a try.
In the mean time, we are still getting some ice time with our friends in Raleigh. We will be attending Triangle Curling LTC events on both Thursday, February 4th and Friday, March 5th. Both events will start at 8:30pm and last a couple of hours.  More to come as we get closer to those dates. Let us know if you are interested in joining us for a roadtrip, but stay tuned for a local Learn to Curl session as soon as we land on dates.
would love to join you at the beginner level. Let me know when you get started and you have a fan already!
I would be interesting in learning the sport. I have never done it before but think that it would be fun.
I am interested in trying curling!!! I have been a fan since the earliest olympics I can remember…1980. We watched in awe and this simple, slow but completely mesmerizing sport!
I have 3 men that are interested in the game of curling. They’ve been watching curling on the Olympics and would like to give it a try.
I am very interested in learning to curl and joining a charlotte curling club.
I would love to go on that early March road trip! After curling for 11 years growing up, it has been 24 years since I was last on the ice. The thought of returning to the sport I love is beyond words! Please keep me posted!
I could beat Mark Shuster! Not really… but i’d be interested in learning too!
I live in the upstate South Carolina so Charlotte is about an hour and a half away. I’ve wanted to try curling for a while. I’m only 14 so I will need to convince my mom that I want to take up curling. I wonder how that conversation will go.
Excited to see people in Charlotte interested in Curling! I too am a new fan and would love to learn more about the sport.
I live in Charleston, SC but would me more than willing to make the road trip up to Charlotte for any upcoming LTC event! Please keep me on the mailing list. Thanks!
My husband and I are very interested in learning to curl. I have done it before, a long time ago, he never has. We can not stop watching it during the Olympics!
This would be so awesome to try. I have always thought about learning to curl. I would love to have more info on when you will be holding events.
Thank you All for your posts! I am behind in responding because it has been a little crazy this week with the all the interest the Olympics is generating. Jay had a quick interview yesterday on WBT1110AM, the Columbia NBC affiliate was up on Tuesday to tape a story, and the Charlotte Observer will be printing a story on curling and the club tomorrow.
It is so exciting to see all this interest. We were concerned there may not be enough interest to support the program, but obviously that is not the case. We’ll be posting the date for the LearnToCurl as soon as our rocks arrive. I can’t wait to see you all there – and Randy maybe you can convince your mom that she would enjoy it too
!
I would love to come to the learn to curl event to try it out. I recently gave up a life-long sport for various reasons and I have been looking for a new hobby to take up. This sounds like a lot of fun!
I too would love to learn how to curl. I was SO happy to find this site when I searched, I was about to not even look! Great site, hope to see you all soon to begin curling
Super excited to know that a learning event will happen. I’ll be there!
We’d love to come from Columbia to learn to curl….have been fans for years.
Can’t wait to hear about the local date. Unfortuately the trips to Raleigh won’t work for us!
My husband and I are intrested in learning to curl. Please let us know when the beginner class starts.
I would love to learn this sport! Please keep me posted on local times and places!!!
Thanks for all of your hard work in getting the curling club started. I am very interested in becoming a member. I became a huge fan of curling when I lived in Halifax and Toronto during my youth in the 60′s, and I am glad to see the sport continuing to grow here in the USA. Please add me to your email list. Thanks again.
I’m very interested in learning curling. I’ve been glued to the TV when curling is on!
I have a group in Greensboro that is interested in Curling. We will be attending the Learn to Curl in Raleigh on March 14th. We would also be interested in supporting a Charlotte club. It is about the same distance to either place for us. Consider starting a Sunday afternoon League. We would support it.
If the local LTC event happens, I’ll be there!

I am so glad that you are getting this started and am so looking forward to participating. I live outside of Charlotte in the Locust area and I know that gettting a club started involves alot of work so if you need any help, please let me know. I am a true beginner but like everyone else, love the sport.
I would be very interested in learning the sport. I have watched the games intently during the last two Olympic Games, and have become extremely interested in learning how to play.
I’m looking forward to learning more about the game.
I am very interested in a beginners course in curling and would love to be part of a local curling club. Please keep me posted on any lessons or other related activites.
